Most gold-plated jewelry is done using a low quality base metal, like copper or brass, and is then coated in a very thin layer of gold. The Gold Vermeil is a minimum of 4 times thicker than a standard gold-plated item! This thicker layer means the plating on your item will last exponentially longer and is much less likely to tarnish.
